Kesrik and Mornik... It is so touchy and dramatic to read the history of the districts that I grew up...

Dear Mary L. MOVSISIAN-LETTS Foess, I came across to your site, while I was searching Harput/Xarpet/Kharpet/Kharpert keywords. My family is from Dersim (a city near Kharpert-Elazig) and I grew up in Elazig. I wanted to send you warm love and regards from Turkey... Ã?zcan, a compatriot from Kharpert.

An incredibly heart felt story. I was blessed to have you as my teacher. By the way, I remember when you (along with a few other faculty members) went to see Neil Diamond in concert. 1978 - 1979... Am I right? :) God Bless

I am also related to William Ellery and have been told there is an Ellery family reunion in Rhode Island on the 4th of July. I'm trying to find out more about it and in searching the web your page came up. Do you have any information?

IN THE NEWS...

"Foess has spent years pouring over adoptive records, oftentimes being stonewalled. But she persevered until the layers she uncovered, the secret she discovered, and the shunning she endured led her to have an amazing love for her Armenian roots. Hers is extraordinary story that one finds hard to believe. It's about a young Armenian mother in America who had to give up her child for adoption during World War II because of hard times, and about that child's decades-long search for her true identity. The chapters reveal Mary's character."  Betty APIGIAN Kessel (The Armenian Weekly - May 10, 2008 Michigan High Beat)
